Walking Alongside You

At SOEL, we believe healing happens not by being told where to go, but by having someone walk alongside you. Whether you're navigating anxiety, working through a difficult season on your own, or trying to reconnect with a partner across cultural differences, we offer a space that's paced to fit you — never rushed, never one-size-fits-all.

We offer individual counselling, couples counselling, and — coming soon — group counselling for immigrants navigating cultural adjustment. All sessions are grounded in evidence-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed care, and available bilingually in Japanese and English.

We work with anxiety and panic, depression, and women's-specific experiences including menopause and postpartum depression, as well as relationship issues — often alongside self-criticism, perfectionism, and the pressures of navigating life across cultures.

Building a life together across cultures brings a unique kind of richness — and a unique kind of friction. At SOEL, we work with couples navigating intercultural and international relationships, including partners bridging Asian and western cultural backgrounds, to help turn cultural difference from a source of conflict into a source of connection.

Adjusting to life in a new country is rarely a straight line. Alongside individual and couples counselling, SOEL will be offering group counselling designed specifically for immigrants navigating this experience together. These groups will offer a space to explore the cultural differences that shape daily life abroad — from communication styles and family expectations to identity, belonging, and the quiet pressure to adapt. Members will have the chance to connect with others facing similar challenges, share what's often difficult to put into words with people back home, and build practical skills for navigating cultural transition with more ease and self-compassion.
